After failing in every imaginable way, with the worst approval ratings since the beginning of time, and with his own party not wanting the president to be neither seen nor heard, George Bush is apparently feeling sorry for himself and throwing himself a pity party.
Our lame-duck president with record low approval ratings, 28 percent according to the latest CNN/Opinion Research Corp. poll, is a political liability for Republican presidential candidate John McCain. And McCain's escalating attacks on Bush's tenure have added fuel to the fire.
Could it be that McCain, who finally had the wherewithal to state to Obama during the final presidential debate, "I am not Bush. If you wanted to run against Bush blah blah blah....(well, at least one of his speechwriters heard a CNN commentator suggest that exact comment at the end of the second presidential debate) has politely asked our commander in chief to play phantom for the remainder of the campaign?
If that's the case then all I can say Thank God for small favors!
