Mumbai - The Aftermath

India’s deadliest terrorist attack in 15 years has left the people shaken and weakened their confidence in their leaders' abilities to keep them safe and continue to try and revive the economy. The attack left many people dead, and is the 12th attack this year. The other 11 left over 300 people dead. But the Mumbai attack is different from past terror attacks which were carried out by Islamic terrorists. Instead of one or more bombings at one site, the Mumbai attackers struck throughout the city using military tactics. Instead of one or more bombings carried out over a short period of time, Mumbai was held hostage for days. An attack of this nature requires months of planning, financing and training. Hence, many believe the military was behind the Mumbai attacks and they may be right. What a shame that people have to live in terror every day of their lives. All of us, every single man, woman, and child on the face of the Earth were born with the same inalienable rights; to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. And, if the governments of the world can't get that through their thick skulls, then change will be necessary.
